凌波Echinocactus texensis以前是单属单种Homalocephalatexensis，现在归为金琥属。金琥属其他的种都是从花座开花的，而凌波则和强刺球属一样从刺座开花。凌波的花是羽毛状的花瓣，颜色粉色或者淡黄色。金属光泽强烈，非常漂亮。凌波的种子个头比较大，有后熟期，需要放置半年至一年出苗率比较好。新鲜的种子播下去出苗率不好也没事，陆陆续续在一年内还能再出一些苗。

凌波属算是我们种植时间比较长的种了，实生的二十年了，以前品种也是很丰富，当时没有注重保留品种。现在留下来年份比较长的都是比较普通刺的，个头也不是很大，在二十多公分。

剑锋凌波 也就是长刺宽刺凌波Echinocactus texensis

无刺凌波 刺非常短几乎看不到或者全无刺的凌波Echinocactus texensisf.inermis（Echinocactus texensis‘Togenasi Ayanami’ ）

王凌波也就是短豪刺凌波，刺又短又宽Echinocactus texensis‘ Ooayanami’

割刺凌波 中刺会分成两叉或者三叉Echinocactus texensis‘Ware toge ayanami’

狂刺凌波Echinocactus texensis‘Kitoge ayanami’

狂刺凌波 顾名思义刺是卷曲的，按照刺的长短，还能分长刺卷刺和短刺卷刺凌波Echinocactus texensis‘Curlyspine’（Echinocactus texensis ‘Kyoushi Anayami ’）
